Nisyros is famous for its traditional villages, beautiful harbour, and active volcano. All of this is only a short boat ride away. Once there, a short coach ride will take you to Stefanos Crater where you can actually walk on the crater where the James Bond classic “Moonraker” was filmed. Returning to Mandraki, the harbour town, explore the narrow streets built purposely so the local people could evade the pirate invasions in a bygone era. Have a drink of “Soumada” a drink made from locally harvested almond trees and take a bottle home as a souvenir or gift!
